Pandemic Problems in Poland

The Polish national healthcare organisation does not seem to work very well, which results in a serious pandemic situation in the country.

In Warsaw, many people in the street aren’t wearing masks, even though wearing masks is mandatory. Many have a mask covering only their mouth or just their chin. Not many seem to try to keep the distance from other people. Occasionally, you can see people not wearing masks in shops and other places where many people gather in a small space. This trend seems to be particularly noticeable amongst Russian-speaking population. Employees at shops and other businesses and institutions are spotted not wearing masks on numerous occasions. People without masks are also often seen at outdoor gymnasiums and playgrounds.

Sometimes, people are not wearing masks even when they ride on the public transport. There are often too many people riding on the public transport, which makes it impossible to keep a safe distance, and, at times, no distance can be kept at all.

Previously, I had to spend 14 days in a mandatory quarantine in a special centre, and, while I was there, I noticed many issues defeating the main purpose of the quarantine.

In the building where my flat is located, people are often seen not wearing masks. Sometimes, they even enter the lift when it’s already occupied by other residents, which is forbidden.

The above-mentioned issues make life in the city unpleasant and dangerous.

I wanted to get an official statement from the healthcare organisation about the current situation in the city, and whether anything is being done to improve the situation, however, my letter was ignored.
